I remember the Volvo XC70-es was the cross-country all-wheel-wheel version of the V70 estate. After a 10-year run it was discontinued in 2016 and was replaced by the V90. The XC90, although it is large on the outside, often felt surprisingly compact inside. Now, almost a decade later, the XC70 type is revived -and yes, as you may have suspected XC60.
The new XC70, which is initially geared towards the Chinese market, has a plug-in hybrid drive train with an extended area with a pure electrical range of up to 124 miles. The design borrows strongly from the XC60, including the characteristic hammer -day running lights with advanced matrix -LED technology.
The technical details remain scarce because Volvo holds more information for a future press release. It is known that the XC70 plug-in hybrid from Volvo Cars offers the company’s longest all Electricity in the first utilization of the company.
Rebuilt on Volvos SMA platform -A premium plug-in-hybrid architecture in the area of extended area-the XC70 marks a significant addition to the brand.
The new XC70 was developed to satisfy the growing demand for plug-in hybrids with a longer range in China, and will be ordered later this year. Volvo will continue to consider additional markets in the future.
