In the heart of the plug-in hybrid drive of the XC70 is a 120 kW 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder petrol engine developed by Geely and Volvo and manufactured with Renault as part of an Aurobay-Joint.

This engine can already be seen in a series of Geely and Lynk & Co models, in which it is usually paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. No details were published via the electric motors of the XC70, but the car can reach a top speed of 180 km/h.
