The KIA EV3 has received the maximum “very good” rating in the Euro NCAP Assisted Driving Test, the European independent authority in vehicle security.
The test assessed the road driver assistant 2 (HDA 2) of the model, a system that combines the monitoring of the real time driver, the adaptive speed control and the trail with a centered area.
The EV3 was assessed in two categories: “Support competence” and “security support” with a score of 74 and 88 out of 100 points. With a total number of 162 points, the model received the maximum rating and became the first KIA model and the first of Hyundai Motor Group to achieve this qualification.
Euro NCAP emphasized that HDA 2 of the EV3 compensates for a high degree of vehicle support in the participation of the drivers, which supports them in various real situations, e.g. B. the change of the trail, the position in the trail at different speeds and stop when the driver loses the reaction capacity.
In combination with an excellent security system, the model offers extraordinary highway support.
“This excellent result reflects Kia’s commitment to the development of advanced technologies that improve the comfort and safety of the driver,” said Pablo Martínez Masip, Vice President for Products and Marketing of KIA Europe and Director of Operations of Kia Connect Europe.
“The performance of the EV3 in the Euro NCAP supports the driving test underlines the skills of the motorway driver assistants 2 and represents a milestone for Kia.”
