Against the background of the terraced vineyards and the flowing river Douro, the luxurious Torel Quinta da Vacaria in Vilarinho dos served as a big stage for the beginning of the tour. Under the Portuguese Twilight Sky, 18 Bugatti master works stood in the formation when owners and guests gathered for welcome cocktails. Each model told a chapter of Bugatti’s unsurpassed heritage with 18 remarkable years of innovation and craftsmanship from a Veyron from 2007 to 16.4 to a Bugatti-W16-Mistral-before-series-Bugatti. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse models, including the famous “Transformers” model, sat majestically next to a divo, two Bugatti Chiron PUR sports, two W16 -Mistral variants and a Chiron Super Sport 300+. This already unusual list was further increased by the presence of three rare icons: a 1 of 20 ‘110 to the Bugatti’ Chiron, a 1 of 3 Chiron L’ébé edition and a 1 of 10 Bugatti Centodieci.
During dinner, a very special bottle of Carvalha’s port wine from 1876 was ceremoniously opened to honor the legacy of the Douro region and give an impression of what was in front of us.
A full circle in Douro Valley
Dawn broke through the Douro Valley to a symphony of W16 engines, which echoed through the hills covered with waves. The following 235 kilometer trip was just as much about cultural immersion as well as driving pleasure. During a private visit in the historic Quinta do Vesúvio – lovingly as “The Queen of the Douro” seemed to be known, where the commitment of Bugattis for heritage and excellence reflected for centuries.
Lunch followed the Carvalhas in the Panoramic Casa Redonda in Quinta and offers 360 ° view over the valley. In the evening, the group rose to the traditional Portuguese Rabelo boats, which once transported harbor wine along the Douro River. This atmospheric river trip for dinner completed a fully circular experience from Weinstock via the estate about the river transport and finally the tasting.
Inheritance in the highland
From the rivers to the mountain peaks, the route over 230 kilometers followed a breathtaking journey through Portugal Kernland, which passed the first Cistercian sanctuary past the old stones of the São de Tarouca monastery. There the quiet silence was broken gently by the arrival of the Bugatti Grand Tour, which was warmly welcomed by a local group in traditional Portuguese clothing.
After lunch in the Mesa de Lemos and the rise of the convoy to the Serrela da Estrela, Portugal’s highest mountain area, the Grand Tour visited the Burel Wool -Fabrik and discovered the art and heir of the Portuguese textile craft. The wonderful day then culminated in Casa de São Lourenço with a comprehensive view of the glacier valley in the Manteigas.
From snow to sunlight
The longest and one of the most breathtaking drives in the Bugatti Grand Tour 2025 began with a morning ascent almost to the summit of Torre Da Estrela (1,993 m), followed by a descent through the constantly changing landscapes of snow -covered rocks in sun -defensive meadows in the full right Bloom of Spring.
When the Grand Tour left the Serrela behind, the streets opened in the rolling landscapes of Alentejo – characterized by gentle hills, paved cities and vineyards.
After lunch in the Herdade Papa Lite, the journey of discovery continued in the Quinta do Paral Hotel, where the day ended with sunset cocktails and a grill between the vineyards.
Precision and performance at Circuito do Sol
The dynamic finale of the Grand Tour unfolded with an exclusive visit to Circuito do Sol, a private 3.5 km racetrack that was shaped into the Alentejo Terrain and was inspired by legendary curves from circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps and Laguna Seca. Although the Grand Tour participants were not yet open to the public, they were the first to explore their demanding layout.
After a parade round, the Bugatti models were driven on the route with full strength, since the drivers enjoyed the opportunity to experience the full spectrum of the Bugatti performance in a controlled environment.
A relaxing lunch in the Herdade Do Sobroso Wine & Country House then offered the perfect counterweight to drive high intensity of the morning. The evening brought the Bugatti Grand Tour 2025 to a successful conclusion with a festive farewell dinner with a high mood, joint memories and celebrations of an unforgettable event.
