Volvo invigorates XC70 as a long-distance plug-in hybrid

Plug-in hybrids in extension routes will hear this term a lot in the coming years, since the car manufacturers focus on what consumers really prefer instead of shifting full of electric vehicles. What drives this pivot in the direction of the PHEVS in the route? A noticeable decline in demand for full of electric cars.

Volvo has revived the XC70 type sign with a new one Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Crossover SUV. The new medium-sized SUV is based on the scalable modular architecture (SMA) and has a 39.6 kWh battery that offers up to 245 km electrical range (CLTC)-volvo longest for a PHEV.

The XC70 mainly aims at the Chinese market with a start in September 2025 and connects the Signature Volvo design such as Thors Hammer-Drls and retractable door handles with ex90-inspired aerodynamics.

It is reportedly based on the Lynk & Co 08 platform and uses a 1.5-liter turbo engine that generates 160 hp, whereby a combined area may achieve 1,200 km (pending final specifications).

Positioned between the XC60 And XC90, the XC70, is intended to offer consumers a middle ground that strives for both electrical driving efficiency and flexibility of the long -distance roads.

Although Volvo initially is considering China Exclusive, he is considering global rollout options and may avoid tariffs through the US production in South Carolina.
