For the context, the Ford Ranger measures 4 × 4 dual-cab cabins 5403 mm long, 1918 mm wide and 1886 mm on a wheelbase of 3270 mm, so that the new MG UTE is particularly larger.
Depending on the variant, dual-CAB ranges also offer a payout number between 929 kg and 1018 kg.
The ground clearance for the MG is 220 mm and the U9 will either drive on 18 or optional 20-inch wheels.
Other previously confirmed available functions are a massage driver seat, “flexible seating functions to maximize storage and comfort”, a JBL sound system and even a walkthrough cabin/tub capacity.
The U9 is covered by the benchmark of the Chinese brand 10 years/250,000 km (seven years/160,000 km for commercial buyers).
While the U9 is a rebaded version of the upcoming LDV Terron 9, at least initially there will be no EV for the upcoming electro -mute from Eterron 9 of MGS Saic Sister Brand LDV.
“At the moment we are considering other drive trains (for the U9), but probably not the EV primarily. We look at something else (like) hybrid,” said Chief Commercial Officer Giles Belcher at the beginning of this year.
Local tests of the U9 are in progress, and MG has teamed up with forces such as HSP, Arb and Autopacific to create a number of real accessories, including bullbars, protection, fucking liders and charging points that are to be made available as dealer options.
The U9 is an essential part of the plan of MG to become a top three car mark in Australia until the end of this decade, and will be one of new models that it publishes in new segments for the brand.
This also includes the 7-Sitz-QS SUV and the stronger Premium-IM5 and IMS6-electric vehicles (EVS), which will reach local exhibition rooms in the coming months.
