Which brands offer the best new car warranties in Australia?

UPDATED 09/06/2025 10:00am: This article has been updated to reflect recent changes to the warranties offered by Hyundai, BYD, Xpeng and Leapmotor, and the addition of new warranties from Geely and Jaecoo.

There are more than 60 auto brands currently present in Australia. More are coming every year, and each one has unique warranty periods and terms.

Because it’s difficult to figure out exactly what each brand does and doesn’t offer, we’ve compiled a list of information regarding the aftersales provisions provided, and we’ll update it continuously as information changes or becomes available.

This is intended to provide information on what the average buyer can expect from each brand in terms of their standard warranties, with caveats and disclaimers explained within each section where possible or necessary.

We’ve also provided links to the warranty information page on each brand’s website where possible.
